James Bond is back in action at the Cinéma de la Plage in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Before filming, the press and the film world were waiting to hear who would take over from Sean Connery, the first actor to play 007. After some hesitation, the production team made their choice: his name is Lazenby, George Lazenby.
Dissatisfied with James Bond's work, MI6 decide to withdraw him from his mission. He then embarks alone and in pursuit of his sworn enemy and leader of the fearsome SPECTRE organisation, Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
In the role of the solitary Bond, George Lazenby is the only actor to have donned James Bond's tuxedo just once. Originally hired for several films, he refused to sign a second contract on the advice of his agent, despite the box-office success of On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Nevertheless, director Peter Hunt, had expected to continue his collaboration with the actor. He had already filmed what was to be the expositionary scene for the next film in the saga, Diamonds Are Forever and was consequently forced to use it as the final scene.
The film will be screened on Wednesday 23rd May at 21:30 at Macé beach.
