President of the jury - Feature film Liv ULLMANN
Actress
Born in Tokyo of Norvegian parents, Liv Ullmann went to drama school in London. She made her stage debut in Norway and her first film role came in 1957.
Noticed by Ingmar Bergman, she became one of his favourite actresses, and he gave her the lead role in some of his most distinguished films : Persona (1966), Cries and Whispers (1972), Scenes From a Marriage (1973), Face to Face (1975) and Autumn Sonata (1977). The role as Kristina in Jan Troell¿s The Emigrants and The New Land (1971) earned Liv Ullmann a Golden Globe. She was nominated several times for Best Actress at the Oscars, and won the American Film Critics¿ Prize four years in a row.
In 1992 Liv Ullmann wrote and directed her first feature film, Sophie, which was awarded at the Montreal Film Festival. In 1995, she adapted and directed Sigrid Undset¿s famous novel Kristin Lavransdotter.
In 1996 she directed for SVT Drama Private Confessions, based on an Ingmar Bergman script. Private Confessions was selected at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival in Un Certain Regard. In 2000 she came again in Cannes, in competition, with Trolösa.
Liv Ullmann has played a number of major roles on international stages.
In recent years she has concentrated on scriptwriting and film directing.
Liv Ullmann has been a UNICEF goodwill ambassador for 20 years and chairman of the IRC (International Rescue Committee).
In 1976 she debuted as an author with the autobiographical work " Changing ", and then wrote " Todvatten " in 1984.

French Director. At the age of 16, he enrolled in Blanche Salan's class in Paris which taught the Lee Strasberg acting method. At 20, he went to New York where he lived for three years, taking classes at the Herbert Bergoff Studio and discovering European cinema at the Bleecker Street cinema. At the age of 30, he began assisting on and then directing programs. In 1992, he directed his first short film Rives which was followed by two other short films Eternelles (1994) and Seule (1996). In 1998, he directed his first feature film La Vie rêvée des Anges, presented in the Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival and which won two awards for best performance by an actress. In 1999, he directed Le Petit Voleur for the program Left Right initiated by Arte.

BIOGRAPHY
Maria de Medeiros was born on August 19, 1965, in Lisbon, Portugal. After graduating from the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Paris, she devoted herself to theatre and cinema, first as an actress, before broadening her work to script writing and directing short and feature films. Since her first role in Joao Cesar Monteiro¿s Silvestre (1982), Maria de Medeiros has starred in over 30 feature movies in Portugal, Spain, France and the United States. In 1994, she was awarded Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival for her role in Teresa Villarde¿s Três Irmãos. In 1995, her performance in Joaquim Leito¿s Adao e Eva won her the Portuguese Golden Globe Award.
In 2000, she directed Capitaes de Abril, which was presented in the official selection of Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival.
