President of the jury Gael GARCIA BERNAL
An actor nearly all his life, Gael García Bernal made his debut in Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s Amores Perros, gained more attention for Alfonso Cuarón’s Y Tu Mamá También. He starred in the title role of Carlos Carrera’s Academy Awardnominated El Crimen del padre Amaro and in Walter Salles’ The Motorcycle Diaries. Other roles include: Pedro Almodóvar’s La mala educación, James Marsh’s The King, Michel Gondry’s The Science of Sleep, Gonzalez Iñárritu’s Babel, Hector Babenco’s El Pasado, Fernando Meirelles’ Blindness and Jim Jarmusch’s The Limits of Control. Gael García directed short films, The Letter (for the feature film 8) and Lucio for the collective Mexican film Revolucion. He also founded the production company Canana with Diego Luna and Pablo Cruz in 2005. Together, they run the Ambulante documentary film festival. He directed his first feature Deficit in 2010.
