Born Claude M'Barali in Dakar (Senegal), MC Solar is 29 years old. He came to France in 1970 and lived in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (Val de Marne). His first single, Bouge de Là, came out in 1990. With the success of two more hit singles in 1991, he releases his first album, Qui Sème le Vent Récolte le Tempo. His second album, Prose Combat, earns him a 1994 U.S. release on the label Cohiba. His last album, Paradisiaque, delivers a modern version of Paradise: a vision of what the world could be like, but never will be; what it should offer but only concedes in dreams. MC Solar is France's most famous rapper. His weapon of choice is subtlety and a visibly relaxed attitude, taking interest in the evils of this end of millennium.
