S.M. Eisenstein.

The Un Certain Regard Poster 2006 features an original drawing by the Russian film maker S.M. Eisenstein (1898 - 1948).
This pencil drawing belongs to a collection of theatrical costume designs and portrays Hesione Hushabye, one of the female characters in the play Heartbreak House written by George Bernard Shaw (the play's subtitle A Fantasia in the Russian manner on English Themes recalls Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard).
Amongst his other theatrical activities, Eisenstein started working in January 1922 as co-director, scenery as well as costume designer for the play "Heartbreak House", directed by Vsevolod Meyerhold. (Most likely, the play was never staged).
