An impressive tableau rooted in Sri Lanka of yesterday, reveals itself universal in scope. This was one of Satyajit Ray's preferred films, an unmoving supporter and great admirer who, as Jury President, awarded Perries with the Grand Prize at the 1965 Delhi Film Festival.
