Having presented her first documentary The 11th Hour at Cannes in 2007, the American director and activist Leila Conners continues her fight against global warming with Ice on Fire. Narrated and produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, the film will form part of the Special Screenings.

In 2007, Leila Conners directed The 11th Hour, a hard-hitting documentary on global warming. Also produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, the film exposed the key problems facing the Earth and its inhabitants. Twelve years later, as warning signs and demonstrations to protect the planet multiply around the world, Leila Conners and Leonardo DiCaprio have joined forces once again in their fight for the environment with Ice on Fire.

Rather than making an alarming assessment of the state of the planet, this time the filmmaker questions the positive impact of scientific progress by asking the following question: "Are we going to let climate change destroy civilisation or are we going to use technologies that can reverse it? "In this sense, Ice on Fire offers innovative solutions on the many ways to reduce carbon to preserve civilisation, drawing on the testimonies of scientists, farmers and researchers from around the world.

We have the creativity, the ingenuity and the vision we need to turn climate change around.

Leila Conners and Leonardo DiCaprio take us on a journey around the globe, from Norway to Alaska, Iceland, Colorado and Switzerland, to meet those who are working to protect our environment and reverse the current trend. With Ice on Fire, the director delivers a message of hope and offers a realistic and optimistic vision on a global issue that deserves our full attention.
