    Synopsis

    Un anthropologue Raul, va dans la Sierra Tarahumara pour étudier les problèmes des indiens du lieu (les Tarahumara). Tomas, chargé de couper du bois, essaye de faire travailler les indiens pour lui. Mais ceux-ci préfèrent travailler la terre. Pour attirer le chef des indiens, Corachi, Tomas tue un veau de l'indien avec le fusil de Raul. Corachi proteste et Raul doit lui payer son veau. Par ce geste il gagne l'amitié de Corachi. Belen son épouse met au monde une fille avec l'aide de son mari. Des étrangers les "Chabochis" volent la terre des Tarahumara avec la complicité d'un autre chef Eloy. Les indiens aidés par Raul décident de s'opposer à ce vol...
