Admission to screenings

Free admission

Open-air screenings at the Cinéma de la Plage are open to all.

Badge-holders

On presentation of your badge you will be admitted to screenings of movies in the Official Selection held in the Debussy, Buñuel, Bazin and Soixantième theatres, within the limit of available places.
Your badge also affords access to the Cannes Short Films viewing areas.

By invitation

An invitation is required to attend screenings in the Grand Théâtre Lumière.Invitations are strictly personal and are not transferable. Accepting an invitation implies that you agree to be photographed and/or filmed.

Note: Two Gala screenings are held every evening in the Grand Théâtre Lumière, at 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm. Invitees should attend at the correct time and place in front of the Red Carpet Steps as shown on their invitation.
Black tie/evening dress is required for gala screenings. For all other screenings appropriate smart dress is sufficient.


Invitations


Withdrawing invitations
Invitations to screenings in the Grand Théâtre Lumière should be collected from the ticket office indicated in the “Admission to screenings” document distributed with your badge. This document specifies your ticketing system or referral office. In the event of loss, a duplicate can be obtained from the accreditation office.
If your badge features a ® then you may reserve online.

 

Important: If demand exceeds the number of available spaces then your requirements cannot always be fulfilled. Invitations are strictly personal and may not in any circumstances be sold to a third party. Any infringement of this rule may incur legal action.

Note: Depending on the number of places still available, last minute admission is available five minutes before the start of each screening in the Grand Théâtre Lumière for badge-holders who were unable to obtain an invitation.

Returning invitations
Every invitation received must be used: If you cannot attend, you MUST return the invitation to the counter that issued it or to the central ticket counter in the Hall Méditerranée.

Failure to comply may result in restrictions being placed on the number of invitations issued to you.

Invitations must be returned:
• by 3:00 pm the day of the screening: for screenings at 7:30 pm, 10:30 pm and midnight.
• by 4:00 pm the day before the screening: for screenings at 8:30 am, 11:30 am, 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

 
 

Festival Theatres

- The Grand Théâtre Lumière presents the feature films of the Official Selection in Competition and Out of Competition.
Admission: via the Red Carpet Steps, on presentation of your Invitation

- The Debussy Theatre presents the Un Certain Regard Official Selection, Short Films in Competition and Press screenings.
Admission: via the Debussy Steps, on presentation of your badge

- The Buñuel Theatre screens the Cannes Classics programmes, the Cinéfondation Selection and Press screenings.
Admission: via the main entrance of the Palais F+5, on presentation of your badge

- The Soixantième Theatre hosts Special Screenings, Day-After screenings (of feature films in Competition and Out of Competition) and Tributes.
Admission: Forecourt of the Riviera, on presentation of your badge

- The Bazin Theatre hosts Un Certain Regard Day-After screenings and Press screenings.
Admission: via the main entrance of the Palais (F+4), on presentation of your Press badge, or any other badge for Day-After screenings.

- The Cinéma de la Plage offers open-air screenings each evening at 8:30 pm.
Admission: open to all depending on the number of available places, Macé Beach


Marché du Film theatres

The Marché du Film screening rooms are located in the Palais, the Riviera and in the city of Cannes.
Admission: on presentation of the Marché du Film badge or invitation (or Press badge, if so authorised).
Priority: Marché du Film badges with mauve stripe.

Important: Admission to the Steps, to the Palais and to the Festival and Marché du Film Theatres is strictly prohibited to any person carrying a camcorder, camera, webcam or any other audiovisual recording device of any kind. It is strictly forbidden to photograph, film, record or retransmit the screenings by any means whatsoever. Any infringement is liable to incur legal action.


Note that the use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the theatres.
