Born in Perth, Scotland, Ewan McGregor has proven himself as a true actor. From Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting to the legendary Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars by Georges Lucas, to Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge.
Other film credits include The Ghost Writer by Roman Polanski, Marc Forster’s supernatural thriller, Stay; Michael Bay’s The Island, Woody Allen’s Cassandra’s Dream; Incendiary, The tourist, Angels and Demons and Amelia by Mira Nair. He also starred in Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down.
He starred in the BAFTA award winning Shallow Grave in 1994. McGregor’s portrayal of Alex Law earned him the Hitchcock D’Argent Best Actor Award and a nomination for Best Actor at the BAFTA. Most recently he and the cast of the Mike Mills film, Beginners, won Best Ensemble at the Gotham Awards.
He is currently in New York, filming an HBO’s series adaptation of the Jonathan Franzen novel, The Corrections.
