Nansun Shi is a veteran Producer of Chinese-language films. She was born in Hong Kong and went to school in the UK. Her film career began when she joined the legendary mini-major studio, Cinema City, in 1981.
In 1984, Nansun and her internationally-renowned Producer/Director husband, Tsui Hark, founded their own production company, Film Workshop Co. Ltd., which has produced many successes including the "Once Upon a Time in China" series, "Peking Opera Blues", "Black Mask 1 and 2", "The Legend of Zu" and "Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame". Nansun has also worked at different media companies and she was the Executive Producer on the hit, "Infernal Affairs", since remade by Martin Scorcese and retitled "The Departed". Nansun is a Member of the Hong Kong Government’s Film Development Council.
