In present day Sri-Lanka. Following a cease-fire agreement the civil war has been replaced by an uneasy truce. In the context of this no-war-no-peace quagmire, day to day life is weighed down by an oppressive feeling of insecurity. Simultaneously in France two young people are tearing each other apart. Everyone is hoping that something will happen to change their monotonous lives.
