Short Film Corner: 3rd Edition

With more than 800 works from nearly fifty different countries, the Short Film Corner testifies to the great popularity of the short with the cinema, television and new mobile media, including the cellphone. Returning to the Film Market for the third consecutive year, this event, whose mission is to favour the distribution of the short and create new bridges leading from shorts to features, welcomes this year twice as many films. The soaring number of television channels, thanks to cable and satellites, and the appearance of the new mobile media have relaunched both production and jobs. Given the necessity of varied contents and quality, all mobile telephone operators promote the production of "very short shorts", thus offering a new El Dorado both for young talents and seasoned filmmakers.

Offering a vast panorama of film short selections and current trends as well as many world premieres, the Short Film Corner holds every day thematic roundtables - today: "65 years of animation at the ONF" - to present this thriving creation given rise to by the "new screens". Representatives of Sony Ericsson, the mobile phone constructor, and the channel Canal+, a key player in the audiovisual production sector in France, thus are meeting to explore the future the creation faced with this new technology represented by portable screen devices.
