With the Out-of-Competition presentation of the film U2 3D at a Midnight Screening, the Cannes Festival gives guests an opportunity to enjoy U2, one of the world's greatest rock
bands, in a new light. Filmmakers Catherine Owens and Mark Pellington followed U2's Vertigo Tour in February 2006, filming several concerts using 3D technology. Viewers will be given specially
designed 3D glasses to watch the film.
For U2 3D, filmmaker Mark Pellington was reunited with the group, which has sold over 170 million albums around the world, fifteen years after directing Achtung Baby, a supplement to the U2 album of the same name.
