A festival of new faces

The 2018 Festival de Cannes is a celebration of renewal, and new talents are getting this decade off to a flamboyant start. From Kenya's Wanuri Kahiu with Rafiki, to Egypt's A.B. Shawky with Yoméddine, and Brazil's Joe Penna with Arctic, the Selection is a melting pot of new and creative talents.
Discussions and dialogues on these first films with Thierry Frémaux, the General Delegate of the Festival, Ursula Meier, President of the Caméra d’or, the director Ryan Coogler, winner of the Un Certain Regard prize for promising talents for his first feature film Fruitvale Station in 2013, and Wanuri Kahiu, who we find once again this year in Un Certain Regard.
