Trois personnages - un homme et deux femmes - dérivent sur un canot. Epuisés, ils ont cessé de ramer, s'abandonnant à leur destin. L'une des femmes raconte son histoire : elle s'est enfuie de prison avec l'aide d'un gardien, sans pour autant trouver l'apaisement.
