The Award for Best Director was awarded to Carlos Reygadas for Post Tenebras Lux. The winner received his prize from Tim Roth and Leila Bekhti.
The prizewinner said: "I would like to thank the Festival who believed in this film, the Jury who awarded this film that was made in freedom, a Jury made up of free men and women. I would also like to thank the audience and the press who have continuously flattered me"
