Tonight, Cinéma de la Plage celebrates the 85th birthday of Warner Bros. by welcoming special guest Clint Eastwood to the outdoor screening of Dirty Harry, a crime-movie classic directed by Don Siegel in 1971, starring Eastwood in the title role as the famous Magnum-toting San Francisco cop. Before this extraordinary event, festival-goers will be treated to a concert by composer Jean-Michel Bernard and American singer Stacey Kent, performing favorite themes from films by Michel Gondry and Eric Besnard.

Clint Eastwood presented this classic to a very large crowd gathered at the public beach in Cannes for the screening. “Thank you very much. We’re going to float away so I have to speak very quickly. I’d like to welcome you here to a 38-year old film that I made with Don Siegel, who is a very wonderful director, influential in my career. This film has been reconstructed and the sound has been done in 5.1. If you have trouble recognizing me, I’m the man with the brown hair and lots of it. I feel the same but my hair doesn’t. Enjoy yourself and very nice to be with you here in Cannes.”
