Gilles Jacob decorated with the Gold Medal of European Merit

Festival de Cannes President Gilles Jacob was decorated with the Gold Medal of European Merit today. The highest distinction awarded by the European Union was bestowed on him by European Commission President José Manuel Barroso. Several European Ministers of Culture attended the ceremony, along with Viviane Reding, European Commissioner for Information Society and Media.
