Cinema de la Plage Features “Soundtrack for a Revolution”

Film focus on freedom songs, after concert featuring Norwegian film soundtracks

Music and film are offered to the public every evening at the outdoor theater Cinema de la Plage. Saturday night’s film is Soundtrack for a Revolution, a story of the American civil rights movement through its powerful music featuring new performances of freedom songs by top artists, including John Legend, Joss Stone, Wyclef Jean, and The Roots; riveting archival footage; and interviews with civil rights foot soldiers and leaders, including Congressman John Lewis, Harry Belafonte, Julian Bond, and Ambassador Andrew Young.

Following the film, John Erik Kaada, composer of the original soundtrack of O’Horten by Bent Hamer, which screened in the Certain Regard in 2008, and his musicians will honor Norwegian film soundtracks.
