Edouard Baer, master of ceremony of the 62nd Festival de Cannes
For the second consecutive year, Edouard Baer will present the opening and closing ceremonies at the Festival de Cannes on this coming 13 and 24 May. Gilles Jacob, President of the Festival de Cannes, announced this on France Inter on 17 mars 2009.
The French actor Edouard Baer is equally a director, producer, screenwriter, playwright and radio and television host.
After attending the Cours Florent in Paris, where he was the student of actress and director Isabelle Nanty, he started his career on Radio Nova in 1992 with Ariel Wizman, then, spotted by Alain de Greef, he joined the teams of the Groupe Canal +. In 1994, he began his acting career for the cinema, and directed his first film in 1999.
He is famous for his “offbeat” and almost distanced humour… he who last year hoped not to mispronounced names beginning with “k” !
