Three Danish composers open Cinéma de la Plage

Cinéma de la Plage features Fundal, Nordkrog, and Lauritsen

For its opening show tonight at 8:30 pm, the Cinéma de la Plage outdoor theater will offer viewers a 45-minute concert prior to the screening, conducted by the renowned Danish composers Karsten Fundal, Flemming Nordkrog, and Jorgen Lauritsen. Fundal, winner of the Danish Academy’s best soundtrack award in 2007 for The Art of Crying, has been granted the honor of playing the original music for the film Jernanger by Pal Jackman. Next, Flemming Nordkrog will present the music from Nothing Personal, the feature by Mathias Gokalp selected for Critics Week this year. Jorgen Lauritsen will conclude the musical interlude with a presentation of the soundtrack from the independently produced US feature Resolute. They will be accompanied by the Prima Vista string quartet and clarinetist Nathalie Rabette.

Since 2001, Cinema de la Plage has been a free yearly Festival event open to the general public, offering outdoor screenings of both classics and films on the Festival program.
