“Wattstax” at the Cinéma de la Plage

Following the concert by the group Belle Roscoe, beach filmgoers will see "Wattstax"

Closing the outdoor screenings at the Cinéma de la Plage, beachside festivalgoers will first enjoy the musical prelude at 8 :30pm given by Belle Roscoe paying homage to their influences in folk music that were used for many film soundtracks. The Australian group includes sisters Julia and Sarah Gurry along with brother Matt.
At 9:30, Wattstax, a musical documentary by Mel Stuart, features a black Woodstock, an anthology concert that took place in 1972 at Watts Stadium in Los Angeles in memory of the Watts riots of 1965. Participating were Isaac Hayes, Albert Kint, the Barkays, Little Milton, Rufus Thomas.
