For its first ever season in 1946, the Festival de Cannes presented its programme under the auspices of the history of the cinema in daily booklets illustrated by  Cluseau-Lanauve. Each day, an important milestone in the story of film is represented, from the Magic Lantern to the first…Festival de Cannes!

The illustrations of  Cluseau-Lanauve are taken from the film Naissance du Cinéma (Birth of the Cinema) by Roger Leenhardt.
