The Cinéfondation Selection: Programme 3
Seventeen medium-length and short films, chosen from among more than 2,000 entries by film school students, are being shown at the 2019 Festival de Cannes Cinéfondation. Georges Goldenstern (Director of the Cinéfondation) and Dimitra Karya (Director of the Selection) answered four questions about the Cinéfondation, to present the four lines-up of this year as well as the aim of the initiative for young filmmakers.

The third line-up is made up of the following films, which will be part of the programme on May 22 at 2:30pm in the Buñuel Theatre.
BAMBOE by Flo VAN DEUREN
Belgium – 15'
Bamboo plants only bloom once, but always simultaneously. The same thing happens to a bunch of thirteen-year-old girls when a mysterious man sets foot on their territory. One by one the girls have to let go of their carefree summer.

A Vietnamese-American household receives a surprise visit from a long-lost patriarch after he fails at a get-rich-quick scheme.
ROADKILL de Leszek MOZGA
United Kingdom – 8'
Roadkill is a stop-motion animated thriller. One alpha male deer goes for an evening car ride and has an unfortunate car accident.

A mysterious teacher comes to a provincial town to work in school. The teacher doesn’t look like a teacher, and his views are too pretentious and innovative. But the city likes the teacher. He has actually no idea how much.
