La Cinef - Programme 1 - OSMÝ DEN, HOLE, SOLOS & LA VOIX DES AUTRES

For its 26th edition, La Cinef selected among 2000 films submitted by film schools from all around the world, 14 short fictions and 2 animated short films, among which 10 films are directed by women and 7 films by men.

13 countries from 4 continents are represented including Morocco, for the first time in selection. The Jury chaired by Ildikó Enyedi will give out 3 La Cinef awards, during a ceremony that will be followed by the screening of the awarded films, Thursday, May 25, in the Buñuel theatre.

A religious sect congregates by a lake in a forest. They are preparing to perform a baptism the next day, but teenage Anna has her own plans.

HOLE by Hwang Hyein

KAFA – South Korea– 24′

During a home visit, Jeong-mi discovers a young boy and his little sister living in a house with a large manhole in it. The children ask Jeong-mi to go down the manhole.

SOLOS by Pedro VARGAS

FAAP – Brazil – 13′

On a construction site in São Paulo, Leonardo, a young worker, starts to hear a strange sound coming from the ground.

 

LA VOIX DES AUTRES by Fatima Kaci

La Fémis – France – 30′

Rim is a Tunisian interpreter working in France on asylum procedures. Every day, she translates the stories of exiled men and women, whose voices raise questions about her own history.
