Rendez-vous with Oliver Stone

This year, the Festival de Cannes gives voice to Oliver Stone for a Cinema Masterclass held by Michel Ciment on Wednesday, May 21st in the Buñuel Theatre.

Oliver Stone was born on the 15th of September, 1946 in New York (USA). He wrote the screenplay for The Year of the Dragon, by Michael Cimino (1985); Scarface, by Brian de palma (1983); and Conan the Barbarian, by John Milius (1982). He is also the producer of Larry Flynt, by Milos Forman (1996) and Blue Steel, by Kathryn Bigelow (1990). 

“When I started out in film, I thought of myself as director wearing a screenswriter’s mask. But when I got work as a writer I’d go all the way and do all the research. On Scarface, I spent six months on location re-writing the dialogue. That’s how I learned my job…”
