Thérèse Martin is a very young nun, a lively, open and idealistic person. The death of her father, the reality of the convent, the hardships and lack of care seriously impaired her health? She has to struggle against the physical suffering and the trial of doubt which unsettles her certainty. She dies of tuberculosis in 1897. She was declared a Saint in 1925.
