César 2026: 18 films. 61 nominations. Congratulations to the 2025 Official Selection!
The César Academy has announced the nominations for its 51st ceremony, to be held on February 26, 2026 at the Olympia in Paris. The Festival de Cannes would like to congratulate all the teams behind the 18 films from the 2025 Official Selection, honoured this year with a total of 61 nominations across 21 categories.
Richard Linklater’s Nouvelle Vague leads with 10 nominations.
18 films from the Festival de Cannes Official Selection are in the running in 21 categories: 10 nominations for Nouvelle Vague by Richard Linklater (Competition). Dossier 137 by Dominik Moll, also in Competition at Cannes, receives 8 nominations, as does Stéphane Demoustier’s The Great Arch. The Little Sister by Hafsia Herzi, awarded the Best Actress prize at Cannes, earns 7 nominations.Thierry Klifa’s The Richest Woman in the World receives 6 nominations. Arco by Ugo Bienvenu and Amélie Bonnin’s Leave One Day (Opening Film) each receive 4 nominations. Cédric Klapisch’s Colours of Time garners 3 nominations. It Was Just an Accident, Palme d’or at the 78th Festival de Cannes, secures 2 nominations. The following films each receive 1 nomination: Little Amélie or the Character of the Rain by Maylis Vallade and Liane-Cho Han, The Secret Agent by Kleber Mendonça Filho (Best Director and Best Actor prizes), Sentimental Value by Joachim Trier (Grand Prix), Sirāt by Oliver Laxe (Jury Prize ex-aequo), Météors by Hubert Charuel, 13 Jours 13 Nuits by Martin Bourboulon, Black Dog by Guan Hu (Un Certain Regard Prize 2024), Les Belles Cicatrices by Raphaël Jouzeau, and Fille de l’Eau by Sandra Desmazières.
