Where can I find promotional materials for the films and Festival?

Photos, posters, trailers and press kits for the films will be available to download from the Film Press Materials/Kit as the Festival draws nearer.

In terms of photos of the event itself, the Festival only has the right to use (and not the right to assign) the photos it publishes online and in print. Please contact the national and international photography agencies (AFP, AP, Reuters, etc.) responsible for coverage of the event directly.

Where can I find press kits, official posters, the list of press agents and press screening times?

You will be able to access the Festival Press Materials/Kit from the mid-April press conference to the start of the Festival. This contains all downloadables for the edition: the official poster, elements from the edition-specific charter, the press kit, a list of the edition’s press agents and press screening times.

Who is eligible for press accreditation?

Press accreditation is issued by the Press and Audiovisual Press Offices exclusively to individuals authorised by an outlet to provide media coverage of the Festival. Other media representatives not tasked with covering the event can contact the Festival Accreditation team. You will be able to apply for individual accreditation for yourself, individual accreditation for a third party, or accreditation for a group of people. It is very important you fill in the details for each person.

What are the criteria for being granted press accreditation?

Press accreditation is issued by the written and digital Press Office or the audiovisual Press Office exclusively to individuals authorised by a media outlet who are in charge of media coverage at the Festival. Other media representatives should contact Festival Accreditations.

Before the Festival

When can I apply for press accreditation?

You can submit your press accreditation application from February 1 to April 19 if you fall into the editorial press category (print, press agency, web media), and early March to March 31 on if you fall into the audiovisual press category (TV, radio, audiovisual press agency, audiovisual web media, photography agency, press photographer).

What is the deadline for applying for press accreditation?

You have until April 19 to submit your press accreditation application if you fall into the editorial press category (print, press agency, web media), and until March 31 if you fall into the audiovisual press category (TV, radio, audiovisual press agency, audiovisual web media, photography agency, press photographer).

How do I submit and track my press accreditation application online?

You can apply for accreditation on our website by creating an online account, filling in a complete registration form and submitting it. You can track your application online via My Account > Track My Application. You will be sent an email notification letting you know whether or not your application has been successful.

If your team comprises both editorial and audiovisual journalists, please apply in two stages, making two separate applications, one for each main activity (an editorial application and an audiovisual application).

If your main activity is editorial, your press accreditation will be issued by the Press Office. More details about the accreditation process.

If your main activity is audiovisual, your press accreditation will be issued by the Audiovisual Press Office. More details about the accreditation process.

I AM BOTH A PRESS JOURNALIST AND AN AUDIO-VISUAL JOURNALIST. CAN I REQUEST BOTH TYPES OF ACCREDITATION?

No. You will need to choose a main area of activity and the access you require. If you are seeking accreditation for a team comprising both editorial journalists (written coverage) and audio-visual journalists (audio-visual coverage), please apply in two parts, making two separate applications, one for each main area of activity (an editorial application and an audio-visual application).

To check which type of accreditation best fits your professional profile, please head to the Press Area/Accreditation section.

My media outlet was accredited last year for the last edition of the Festival. Do I need to re-apply for this year?

Yes. Accreditation doesn’t renew automatically. If you would like to attend another edition of the Festival, you’ll need to use the online accreditation form to upload your primary media outlet’s coverage of the last edition, and on your secondary media outlet(s), where applicable.

I want to switch media outlet. What conditions do I need to meet to be granted accreditation again?

If you wish to attend and cover the Festival again for a different media outlet, you are to make a new request for accreditation by adding the cover of the previous edition of your main media outlet and secondary media outlet (if applicable), as well as a mandate letter signed by the editor-in-chief of the media outlet authorising you to cover the current edition.

How many accreditations can be granted per media outlet?

The number of accreditations and their pass category (access levels) granted per media outlet are allocated based on the profession in question (journalist, photographer, media technician), the media outlet’s publication frequency, size (print run, audience), whether or not it specialises in film, and the coverage it plans on providing for the Festival de Cannes.

I will be covering the Festival for more than one media outlet. Do I need to register all of them?

Yes. When you register using the online form, you’ll be asked to enter information for your primary media outlet as well as information concerning any secondary media outlet(s) you may have. If your work spans several roles, please specify your main job description, as the Press Office doesn’t issue double accreditations.

I’m a freelance journalist/photojournalist. Can I apply for accreditation?

No. To apply for press accreditation you must be authorised to do so by a broadcaster.

How do I pay my accreditation fee?

Payment by card only (Visa, Master Card, American Express (AMEX)). You can only pay this contribution online. Registration for the Festival de Cannes is subject to a €20 (excl. VAT) environmental contribution per participant. The money collected goes entirely to programmes devoted to carbon reduction and sequestration. This environmental contribution is a part of the environmental policy of the Festival de Cannes. Payment at accreditation offices is not possible. Payment must be made online and in advance in your My Account space.

Can I pay the accreditation fee when I go to collect my pass from the accreditation office?

No payments will be taken at the accreditation office. Accreditation fees must be paid in advance online in your My Account area.

Will I receive an invoice?

Once you have made your payment online, you will receive a payment confirmation. Then, your invoice will be available via My Account > Track My Application.

What exactly is the environmental contribution I’m asked to pay upon confirming my accreditation?

Registering for the Festival de Cannes requires each participant to pay an environmental contribution of €20 (excl. taxes) to offset the carbon emissions generated by accredited parties travelling to and staying in Cannes. The funds raised through these environmental contributions will be donated in full to carbon-offsetting schemes. This contribution is part of the Festival de Cannes’  green policy. No payments will be taken at the accreditation office. Accreditation fees must be paid in advance online in your My Account area.

I can’t come to the Festival this year. Can I transfer my accreditation to a colleague?

No, your accreditation is non-transferable.

During the Festival

Will there be press screenings? How do I attend them?

I’ve lost my password for the online ticketing service. What should I do?

If you have lost your password, please click on “Forgot your password?” on the login page. You will then receive an e-mail allowing you to reset it.

For same-day screenings, the QR code is instantly visible, and the PDF ticket is available a few minutes later. You can access theatres by presenting your ticket on your smartphone or in its printed version.

What should I do if I encounter difficulties on the online ticketing site?

From May 14, 2024, our teams will be at your disposal from 9am to 6pm by e-mail at ticketpresse@festival-cannes.fr.
