The Festival decided to pay tribute to the tireless work embarked upon day after day by the press photographers who contribute to the iconic event that is the Festival de Cannes. Every day, a jury comprised of Pierre Lescure (Festival de Cannes President), Florence Leroy (Sud Radio journalist), Guillemette Odicino (Télérama journalist) and Laurent Weil (Canal + journalist) selected the three most striking photographs of the day.
The top three photos of the day were uploaded to the festival's website and showcased at the Terrasse des Journalistes, Palais des Festivals – Level 4.
Alan Schoenauer first began covering the Festival de Cannes as a photographer in 1980, snapping his first Official Selection photograph of Bob Fosse's All that Jazz.
