In 2017, Bruno Dumont gave the myth of Joan of Arc a new lease of life with a daring re-imagining of her childhood in the breathtaking musical Jeannette (2017). Two years later, the filmmaker continues his portrayal of the French historical heroine by adapting the last two sections of "Domrémy", a play by Charles Peguy. Set to music by the French singer Christophe, Jeanne (Joan of Arc) portrays the stubbornness of the young woman who rose up to lead the French army, to fulfil the mission she declared she was chosen for: to deliver her country from English occupation. Bruno Dumont, whose film will be shown at Un Certain Regard, entered into the spirit of this very pictorial interview with the Festival official website...
