Online ticket office

Every year, the Festival de Cannes welcomes between 35,000 and 40,000 festival goers. In order to allow them to see the films of the Official Selection, the organisation offers 5 to 6 screenings per day in each of its 10 theatres.

Only those with accreditation for the Festival or parallel sections (Directors’ Fortnight, Semaine de la Critique, ACID and Cannes Cinéma) may access the online ticket office and can thus make reservations, subject to availability.

To connect to the ticketing site, accredited members will use the e-mail address and password chosen when creating their account at the time of accreditation request.

For each screening and based on your type of accreditation, which determines the time at which tickets are available, reservations are open between 4 days and 1 hour before the screening.

New seats are made available every morning at 7 am or 8 am depending on the category of the festival attendee. There is no point in trying to connect well ahead of time: 1 minute before seats are made available, all users connected are moved into a waiting room and enter the reservation site based on a random draw. In 2025, 90% of those with accreditation were able to access the reservation site in under 2 minutes.

Online ticketing for the 79th Festival de Cannes will open on May 4, 2026. Reservations will be available from May 8, 2026.

FESTIVAL-GOERS CHARTER ONLINE TICKET OFFICE

As the Festival de Cannes is a festival whose primary objective is “to encourage the development of the art of cinema”, those with professional accreditation are given priority over those accredited film lovers who are not industry professionals.

Those with professional accreditation are divided into different categories based on their professional domain (production, distribution, screening, international sales, etc.) and based on their experience and professional history.

When the ticket office opens 4 days prior to each screening, quotas are initially allocated to each of the accredited categories.

At J-2 and J-1, unclaimed tickets are made available to all categories of festival goers without distinction, non-professional film lovers included. In this way, new tickets are made available every morning for a majority of screenings.

When a ticket is obtained, it is visible online in your personal space.

A QR code for the ticket, required for access to the theatre, is generated the evening before the screening. For a same-day screening, the QR code is visible instantly.

To enter a session, please present your ticket on your smartphone (from your ticketing account or by downloading it into your mobile wallet) or in its printed version.

Once a seat is attributed to you for a screening, you are guaranteed it until 10 minutes before the beginning of the screening, and 25 minutes for the gala screening at the Grand Théâtre Lumière. For the majority of screenings, a time slot for accessing the theatre is indicated on the ticket. Please observe this.

Tickets are strictly personal and their sale is prohibited. Anyone contravening these rules risks prosecution.

In 2025, there were on average 12,5% no shows per screening. Out of courtesy to other festival attendees, if you cannot attend a screening, please cancel your ticket so that it can be made available to someone else.

All tickets received must be used. In the event you are unable to attend, you must return your ticket to your distribution office (at the office with which your accreditation is associated or to the Central Ticket Office, Hall Méditerranée). If you have obtained an electronic ticket, then all you need to do is cancel it in your ticket office account.

Failure to do so will lead to the following consequences: after 2 no shows from an accredited attendee, his or her ability to reserve tickets will be automatically blocked for a period of 48 hours.

Tickets must be given back or cancelled as soon as possible, 1 hour at the latest ahead of screenings.

Journalists benefit from certain special rules.

In 2025, 18,000 seats were allocated thanks to these last minute queues,. At the Cineum, the majority of festival attendees who showed up to a screening, in the last-minute access queue with their badge, were able to see the film.

In 2024, given very high demand, 95% of available invitations were reserved within 15 minutes following the opening of reservations.

Seats are put back into circulation every morning. Please check regulary. Do not hesitate to also check the ‘last-minute access’ page.

If, despite everything, you have not been able to obtain a ticket for a screening, you may show up with your badge and join the Last-minute access queue for the theatre where the film is being screened. If there are any seats available, you will be able to attend the screening.

Over 10 days, from 8:30 am to midnight, the Festival offers around 5 to 6 screenings per day in each of its 10 theatres. That being said, with roughly 6,000 total seats for almost 5 times as many attendees, the demand for tickets is structurally higher than supply, with a reservation system under pressure. Here are some recommendations to allow you to make the most of your festival experience.

Did you miss a film In Competition that you wanted to see?

The films competing for the Palme d’or are in particular demand, but they are screened at the Cineum up to 4 days after their gala screening. In 2025, a huge majority of festival attendees who showed up with their badge to a ‘last-minute access’ queue to attend a screening at the Cineum, were able to see the film.

As a general rule, if you weren’t able to attend the première of a film in the Official Selection, it is, on average, screened three other times in the following days.

The benefits of being an early bird and a night owl

Every day, the first screenings (around 8:30 am) and the final screenings (starting at 10:00 pm) are generally less sought after than the others. Do not hesitate to join the last-minute queues for these screenings. You’ll have a good chance at attending the screening.

Renewal of a 4th auditorium at the Cineum in 2026

Since 2025, the Festival de Cannes makes use of the fourth large theatre in the Cineum again to further increase its offer of seats. That’s 20% more seats to allow you to discover the films of the Official Selection.
