New inspiration for Cannes Classics

29 restored prints and 10 documentaries produced in 17 countries. Cannes Classics is celebrating global cinematographic heritage more than ever, with its screenings and events. The greatest filmmakers present their work, like William Friedkin with To Live and Die in L.A., Bertrand Tavernier and his Journey Through French Cinema (Voyage à travers le cinéma français) shown as a premiere, or Claude Lelouch with A Man and a Woman (Un homme et une femme), Palme d’or in 1966. Cannes Classics has not stopped growing in importance since it was created in 2004. Thierry Frémaux talks to us about the development of this selection and its importance for the Festival de Cannes.
