Emmanuel Gond

Today’s 5pm screening of a digitally-restored print of Voyage de la Hyène by director Djibril Diop Mambéty is a Cannes Classics tribute to the World Cinema Foundation, a non-profit agency founded last year at the urging of Martin Scorsese, to help developing countries preserve their film heritage. Yesterday, Susuz Yaz by Metin Erksan was screened as part of this program, and The Servant, a 1960 film by Kim Ki-Young is scheduled tomorrow. At 7pm in Salle Buñuel, festival-goers will have an opportunity to see Guide, a 1965 film by Indian cineaste Vijay Anand.
