Cinéma de la Plage: “Total Balalaika Show”

Tonight’s Cinéma de la Plage free outdoor screening will be dedicated in full to Finnish filmmaker Aki Kaurismäki, Grand Prix laureate with The Man without a Past in 2002. Tonight, festivalgoers can enjoy his 1993 documentary Total Balalaika Show, about the Finnish rock band Leningrad Cowboys. Prior to the screening, at 8:30 pm, they can enjoy a concert by Anssi Tikanmäki, whose music has been featured several times in films by Aki and Mika Kaurismäki.
