Girl Hunting at the Cinéma de la plage

Shirley Eaton

Cinéma de la Plage offers a world avant-première this evening of the brand new reel of The Girl Hunters by Roy Rowland (1963). It’s a model film noir with Mike Hammer as macho and bluff as ever, interpreted by his own creator, the writer Mickey Spillane.
In The Girl Hunters, Mike Hammer investigates his own secretary and mistress, Velda, and is lead to the stunning Laurence Knapp, interpreted by Shirley Eaton, the Bond Girl who was covered in gold paint in Goldfinger.
The Girl Hunters was made by Roy Rowland, an MGM director, who made the famous Les 5000 Doigts du Docteur T. and numerous other genre films (detective, science fiction, spaghetti westerns).
A neglected film by Roy Rowland, The Girl Hunters will be re-released in cinemas this summer.
