Henry Padovani, a Corsican rockumentary

Le Groupe, The Police.
For their second to last show, the Cinéma de la Plage is screening Rock’n’roll, …of Corse ! a documentary by Lionel Guedj and Stéphane Bébert about the career of Henry Padovani, The Police’s Corsican ex- guitarist (Macé Beach, 21h30). A world premiere preceded by a concert by Flying Padovani, the group started by the musician in 1980. Don’t miss it, at Macé Beach, 21h30.

From founding The Police, the cult group that he formed with Stuart Copeland, Sting, and Andy Summers, through to the reformation of the group in 2007, Henry Padovani’s route has been marked by defining encounters and relationships: the Who, the Clash, R.E.M, the Sex Pistols and many others.

In a documentary edited from improvised sequences, archive footage and interviews with some of the biggest names in rock music, who have all rubbed shoulders with the guitarist, Lionel Guedj and Stéphane Bébert look back at the extraordinary journey of the Corsican rocker from Bastia. In a word, they’ll be rocking down at the beach tonight.
