LOVE IS THE DEVIL
The powerfully complex relationship between the flamboyant artist and the man who became his lover and muse (for some of his most intense and celebrated paintings), explores the territory where art, love and sex dangerously collide. Before Bacon’s triumphant 1971 retrospective at the Grand Palais, the two men meet when petty burglar Dyer literally drops into Bacon’s studio. As Bacon’s coterie of artists, rent boys and drunks compete for his attention, Dyer is gradually bled dry by drinks and drugs.
