la Compétition. Objet de la plus grande attention des critiques et du grand public, elle se veut un instantané de la création cinéma- tographique internationale. Les films concourent pour la Palme d’or, le Grand Prix, les Prix d’Interprétations féminine et masculine, le Prix de la Mise en scène, le Prix du Scénario et le Prix du Jury.

Excellence, mastery and daring are the ingredients of the Competition. As the subject of immense attention from critics and the general public, its aim is to be a snapshot of international cinematographic creation. Films compete for the Palme d’or, the Grand Prix, the Best Actress and Best Actor Awards, Best Director Award, Best Screenplay Award and the Jury Prize.

Out of Competition films are works that are sure to be major events in the coming film year. Special Screenings provide a tailor-made exhibition of more personal expressions.

CANNES PREMIÈRE Inaugurée en 2021, cette section fait la part belle aux cinéastes

confirmés pour présenter leur dernier film en avant-première. Inaugurated in 2021, this section is a showcase for

experienced directors to present their latest film in a preview screening.

UN CERTAIN REGARD Cette sélection s’attache à promouvoir des œuvres originales,

autant dans leur fond que dans leur forme et à participer à l’émer- gence de nouveaux auteurs internationaux. La veille de la cérémonie de Clôture, le Jury Un Certain Regard attribue ses prix.

This Selection is committed to promoting works that are original both stylistically and in terms of content and to partici- pating in the emergence of new international filmmakers. The Un Certain Regard Jury awards its prizes the evening before the Closing Ceremony.

CANNES CLASSICS Cette programmation présente copies restaurées, grandes

œuvres du passé, hommages et documentaires sur le cinéma. This programming presents restored prints, great works

from the past, homages and documentaries on cinema.
